My Story

My name is Rachel Day.
I started swimming as a young girl and as I grew older the water became a huge part of my life. I was on my High School's Swim team and Water Polo team, serving as captains for both. The memories I made on those teams sparked my desire to become a instructor to help others gain more confidence in their swimming abilities.
I recently moved from Utah, and I am currently a private swim instructor for the St. Louis, Missouri area. I had the privilege of previously working for "Stansbury Swim" in my hometown for a few summers. Then a few years ago, I started teaching independently from any organization which allowed me to have more flexibility and creativity with my lessons. I have lots of experience and am very passionate about sharing my love for the water with others!
I specialize in teaching children but am open to all ages! I also have experience with special needs children through other jobs. I am very flexible and like to customize my lesson plans for each individual client. I can teach a variety of experience levels from basic floatation to stroke techniques. I try to make it my #1 priority to help my clients gain the confidence they need to stay safe and enjoy their time in the water. My hope is that all can learn to love the water as much as I do!
I am currently a student at WashU going through their Occupational Therapy Program so I am learning and have expereince with special needs as well.
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions regarding my teaching style, lessons, availability, scheduling, etc. I will try my best to be flexible and accommodating for anyone interested in taking lessons from me.
DISCLOSURE: The only certification I currently hold is for CPR. I believe my experience makes me a great teacher but am also looking into further opportunities to become more qualified.
